David Watkins has served as pastor of First Baptist Church since October, 1988. Prior to coming to Magnolia, Bro. David pastored churches in Texarkana, Ruston, LA, and Crossett.

Bro. David and his wife, Sheryl, are the parents of three adult daughters. Krista Roberts and husband Dale make their home in Cleveland, MS. Katie May and husband Rodney live in Magnolia as do Kara Way and her husband, John. The Watkins also have three grandchildren, Hallie Kate and Heidi May, and Dustin Roberts.

Bro. David has held numerous denominational offices, including serving as president of the Baptist Missionary Association of America from 2006-2008. He currently serves as chairman of the Coordinating Council of the BMA of America.
